Itinerary
December 8
Travel day. Arrive to Guatemala in the morning. You may wish to travel on Dec 7 and arrive in early morning to airport, or arrange a hotel in the airport on your own for the night of the 7th, as we will leave together from La Aurora airport in Guatemala City, for Doron Yoga at 1:30pm. When exiting from costumes, turn right, and walk to the end, there is a café and an exit. Someone will wait with a Doron Yoga sign at the café or out of the café. They will transport us to Doron Yoga & Zen Center at the shore of Lake Atitlan, one of the wonders of the world. Arrive at the Center, enjoy the stunning views of Lake Atitlan, a welcome dinner and orientation with Yuval Ron and Center staff.
December 9
Morning and afternoon: Sound healing meditation workshop* with Yuval Ron in Center
Evening: a film screening of the PBS Nova special directs cut (2 hours long!) Breaking the Maya Code, with score by composer Yuval Ron, followed by discussion with Yuval Ron and an anthropologist who studied the Mayan culture.
December 10
Morning: Scenic boat trip and visit of local villages with local guide
Late Afternoon: Sound meditation workshop* with Yuval in Center.
Evening: a screening of Out of the Maya Tombs – a documentary about the theft of Mayan treasures and Mayan mythology, with music score by Yuval Ron. Followed by discussion with Yuval Ron and an anthropologist who studied the Mayan culture.
December 11
Morning: Visit to an active Mayan Ruins site for witnessing a ritual by Mayan priests. Lunch and shopping in a local village followed by free time to rest in the Center, optional massage or Yoga private session or explore the lake. In the evening enjoy sacred sound chanting and movement meditations workshop with Yuval at the Center.
December 12
Morning: free time for shopping and exploration at the local villages on your own, or simply enjoy the center or the lake a swim, walk, contemplation and relaxation. Optional massages, or private Yoga class may be arranged.
Afternoon: Enjoy a sacred healing sound workshop* with Yuval in center.
After dinner: Enjoy a screening of Maya Variations – a video documentary of a multi-media performance created by Yuval Ron, post screening Q&A with Yuval Ron an anthropologist.
December 13
Morning: Enjoy the final healing sound workshop* with Yuval
Afternoon: Enjoy an exclusive concert with Yuval and local Mayan musicians, soul music beyond borders!
Evening: Explore the healing power of sound at the final healing sound workshop* with Yuval
December 14
Morning: departure to the lovely city of Antigua, a UNESCO World Heritage site! In Antigua, explore the preserved Spanish Baroque influenced architecture and the Museo de música maya Casa K’ojom en Sacatepéquez. a Mayan music-related museum near Antigua. Enjoy typical lunch in one of the local restaurants.
Evening, enjoy a farewell party with live music by Yuval Ron, sharing and offerings by the group participants in hotel.

December 15
Travel in our tour bus to Guatemala City to fly home from Guatemala City Airport.
Please note: This is a draft itinerary for planning purposes and is still subject to changes between now and our travel dates.
* Sound meditation workshops may include practices from Nada Yoga (Yoga of Sound), Ayurvedic and Qigong sound practices, Zen-Buddhist, Kabbalistic and Sufi sound meditations.
Tour includes:
- 6 Nights Accommodations at Doron Yoga & Zen at Lake Atitlan, Guatemala, plus all breakfasts, lunches and dinners, (except for lunches on Dec 8, 10, 11, 14, and 15), plus one night hotel accommodation, and dinner in Antigua for August 14, plus breakfast in hotel on August 15.
- Tour Bus with a licensed driver upon arrival in Guatemala City, rides to locations
mentioned in attached Itinerary, including rides to Antigua and back to Guatemala City airport - Professional tour guiding service in English for all rides and trips outside Doron
Yoga & Zen Center listed in attached Itinerary - Entrance fees to monuments/sites
Not included:
- Personal travel and health insurance.
- Visa fee (US citizen do not need Visa, other nationals may)
- Tips to guides and drivers, DYZC staff and any other gratuities. – Private transfers to and from airports before or after airport group tour bus transfers.
- Any optional tours and services, which are not mentioned in the itinerary
- Massages and yoga classes at Doron Yoga Center
- Additional snacks, beverages, and expert consultations/spa services on the property.
- Lunches on Dec 8, 10, 11, 14, and 15.

Payment and Registration:
Participants will pay $500 deposit upon registration and full balance by 60 days before tour start. Doron Yoga & Zen Center will make all efforts to accommodate some potential participants who may require other payments schedule granted that the balance be paid in full by the tour start date.
Terms of Cancellation:
In the case of cancellation owing to insufficient number of registered participants by 60 days before Tour start, full refund less US$500 handling charge per person. In the case of individual cancellation after 60 days before tour start, there will be no refunds.
In the case of cancellation of an individual within the group owing to ill health that would prevent the individual from traveling (with doctor certificate), death of a close member in the family, and/or accident, full refund less US$500 handling charge per person.

The Doron Yoga & Zen Center is not responsible to cancelations due to Covid or any other events beyond their control. They will due their best to accommodate any needs that arise.
